No doubt everyone has been affected by Cancer. Either you know someone who is currently battling this disease or have been touched by someone’s passing. We would like to honour those affected by joining St. Mary’s High School Relay for Life Fundraising campaign this year.

On June 7, 2021, St. Mary’s High School will be participating in Relay for Life in a COVID-friendly manner.

Relay for Life unites students to raise money for game-changing research into all cancers. Funds collected are used to help scientists make important progress, so people diagnosed with cancer can live longer than ever before.

When you donate to Relay for Life, you enable the Canadian Cancer Society to provide a national support system for people with cancer and their families. This includes helping people manage life with cancer with services such as accommodations at patient lodges, transportation to treatment, and so much more.

With nearly 1 in 2 Canadians expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, your contribution has never been more important.

Luminary Bags

  • Families are invited to participate in the creation of luminary bags (in honour of someone currently fighting cancer, or in memory of someone who lost their battle with cancer). Attached are a few digital luminaries, that you can use as a screenshot or customize a printable one. If you send completed ones back to St. Mary’s High School, Kate and Dylan will include them in the video.  If these could be submitted by Monday, May 31st, it would be greatly appreciated. You can send pictures of completed luminaries to sandra.labelle@wcdsb.ca  before Monday, May 31st and we will forward to SMH.

Thank you for your participation and donations!
