This year at St. Anne School we will be using the Umbrella Project as our platform for our monthly themes.

The Umbrella Project is a wonderful school-wide program that teaches our students strategies to develop skills to encourage their overall well-being and to be resilient in life. Yes, a little rain falls in our lives and when we have an umbrella (a set of strategies and life skills) to pop open to protect us from the rain, we endure and move through these bad weather moments of life with greater ease and resilience.

The first theme we will explore for the Umbrella Project for the month of October is Empathy, which was introduced to the students on October 1st. Empathy is defined as the ability to share and understand the feelings of another. This is an important skill for students to develop. Please see the attached article on how to help your child(ren) with this skill at home.

Please see the attached letter from Dr. Jen, the founder of the Umbrella Project introducting Empathy. Empathy Parent Letter
