November News

 Administration Message

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s):

October was a productive and engaging month! As we move into November students and teachers move deeper into their learning experiences. Progress reports go home next week on Tuesday, November 6th. Parent/Teacher conferences are on Thursday November 8th and we look forward to seeing many families in the school that night. Here are some questions that might spark conversation when you receive the report card:

  • What strategies do you use that help you in your learning?
  • What has this school year taught you about your gifts and talents?
  • What has this school year taught you about how you best learn?
  • What are your goals for math learning?
  • Is there anything we can do to support you on your achieving your goals?

Asking your child questions will help to guide them into being a lifelong learner who wants to grow through learning for the intrinsic value of it. You are helping them learn to reflect and review their own thinking and learning in a positive way instead of getting stuck or feeling overwhelmed.

The interview time assigned for each child will be sent home with the oldest or only in their Progress Report Card. Please contact your classroom teacher after report cards are distributed if you are unsure of the interview time assigned for your child.

November is traditionally the month when we remember those who have sacrificed so much for our amazing country. At Saint Anne, we will celebrate Remembrance Day on Monday, November 12th – with a special Liturgy starting at 10:50 am in the gym. All parents are invited to join us.

Have a peaceful November.

ECO

The EcoTeam has been hard at work all month getting our bin collection program up and running to ensure that St. Anne’s is sending as little waste as possible to the landfill. We have delivered signs to all classrooms  to help remind students and teachers of what goes in the blue, green, and white bins. Parents – ask your child(ren) to pass those reminders on to you at home!

All classes also have signs helping them to remember ways to conserve energy, such as turning off the lights and Brightlinks when they are not needed and using natural light by opening the curtains. Keep reducing your energy consumption at home as well – the earth (and your wallet!) will thank you!

In a few weeks, the EcoTeam will be conducting their first Walkabout, where they inspect each classroom to ensure everyone is reducing waste and conserving energy. Ask your child(ren) how they could make sure their class passes inspection, and watch for our results posted on our Eco bulletin board next to the EcoStation.

Stay green, Golden Stars!
