Hello Golden Star Families,

Congratulations to all for making it to the last week of May in what has been a most trying year. Your continued patience, dedication, and flexibility are so appreciated by the staff of Saint Anne. As we continue to exercise patience in returning to normal, we encourage all to keep up the amazing effort of getting online and staying focused on school each and every day. The sunshine and warm temperatures have certainly been a welcome addition to our days but also prove to make staying focused on class difficult. Taking advantage of the natural breaks of snacks, recess, and lunch to get outside, get bodies moving and soak in a little vitamin D and then get back at school is a good way to break up the day. Thank you to all for your continued assistance.

It is bittersweet to inform our school community that Mrs. Sandra Labelle, our Vice Principal, will be moving to St. Kateri for the new school year. Mrs. Labelle has served Saint Anne School for almost 3 years and has been a tremendous advocate of supporting student learning and school wide initiatives. She always goes above and beyond in supporting students, families, and the school staff. Her dedication to our students and care for others will be greatly missed. We wish Mrs. Labelle all the best as her leadership journey continues. As we always say, Once a Golden Star, Always a Golden Star.

Ms. Jessica Weber, who is currently the Vice Principal at St. Daniel has been assigned to Saint Anne for the new school year. Ms. Weber has great expertise and passion for school improvement initiatives and Mathematics. Welcome Ms. Weber to the best elementary school in Kitchener😊!

The transition of vice principals will occur during the summer months.

In-school learning and virtual learning will be offered next year. A survey for families interested in virtual learning will be available on the board website (www.wcdsb.ca) from May 31st to the 3rd only. If you decide to enroll in virtual learning there will be no opportunity to move back into in-school learning for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year. Even if you completed the survey in March indicating your preference to attend St. Isidore for remote learning, you must complete the survey once again. Please know that the option that you choose now will be your decision for the entire school year.  There will be no transition period between delivery platforms.

WCDSB is committed to supporting your child’s continued learning. In July and August this year, there are a number of learning options available for elementary and secondary students that will ignite, support and challenge students toward success and preparation for the next grade.

All Elementary, Secondary and Adult Learning options can be found here: Summer Learning (wcdsb.ca)

If your family is expecting to move prior to the Fall, and have not already informed the office, we ask that you kindly contact us by the end of this month.  This helps us with our classroom planning.

Plans are underway to celebrate our Graduation Class of 2021.  This year, our Grade 8 Graduation will take place on Thursday, June 24th, 2021.  Details for this event will be finalized in June.  Grade 8 parents should continue to look for emails with updated information.  We pray for our Graduates, as we prepare to celebrate them and all their accomplishments.

With the current ever-changing restrictions on gathering during the Pandemic and the uncertainty of government directives which may be forthcoming, the Diocese of Hamilton has recommended that the celebration of the Sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation be rescheduled to the fall.  They will be notifying us of the new dates via email in late summer.  We thank you for your patience and understanding.

Thank you once again for all that you do! Continue to stay safe and healthy!
