Dear Families of St. Anne School Community,
We are thrilled to announce that this year, our school has been awarded a $1200 grant from the Community Better Challenge, an initiative by ParticipACTION. This national program motivates Canadians to engage in physical activities and compete for the title of Canada’s Most Active Community.
On the morning of Monday, June 17 (with a rain date of Tuesday, June 18), we will be hosting our Inaugural Community Better Challenge event, the “Golden Stars Summer Games”. Our entire school community will engage in a variety of activities throughout the morning. We have formed teams of students from JK to Grade 7, and our Grade 8 students will lead six unique events at two different locations on our school grounds. These fun, physical activities are designed to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion for all. We will monitor the total physical activity of our school community and submit this data to ParticipACTION, with the aim of earning additional prizes or funds to enhance our Intramural program at St. Anne School.
The grant we received has been allocated to equip each classroom with a range of playground and gym equipment for the upcoming school year. This will bolster our Intramural program and student-led outdoor games, promoting physical activities that embody our core values of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The “Golden Star Summer Games” is a free event for our students. We kindly request students to come prepared with appropriate athletic footwear, comfortable clothing, extra water, hats, and sunscreen. We will also designate this day as a school spirit day, encouraging students to wear their school spirit wear or our school colors, yellow and blue.
Should you have any queries regarding the event, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
Sincerely,
Michel Pleau
