Five Days of Freedom

Five Days of Freedom

Our Social Action Team, is excited to celebrate the Five Days of Freedom again this year!  We have some awesome new activities as well as some of our old school favourites! All money collected will go towards our goal to build a water well in Kenya!

Monday, April 16

Water Awareness Campaign

The EcoTeam and SAT will be collaborating on a campaign to bring awareness to our staff and students about our water consumption. Our goal is to educate our school community about the privilege of having clean water available to use all day, and to compare that privilege to what it might be like to live in another part of the world where water is scarce. While creating awareness, we will also be fundraising for a well in Kenya through Me to We that our school has committed to building over the next two years.

We Bake Sale

A school favourite!! Students are looking for support in this area as they will sell baked goods all day in our intermediate hallway.  If any families are able to donate their time or baking expertise, we would greatly appreciate it!  Items needed: cookies, cupcakes, muffins, rice krispie squares, brownies, etc.

**If there are any parents willing to bake for our students with food sensitivities (i.e., dairy, gluten-free, egg) that too would be greatly appreciated.

** Please also be reminded that the school is a NUT FREE ZONE.

**Baked goods can be dropped off in the main office af after 8:30 am on Monday morning.

Catch a Kid

ATTENTION STUDENTS – Do you want to be the principal or vice principal for half a day?

Mr. Bruni and Mme. Shantz need some help in the office!  They are looking for a student who can help them with their many daily responsibilities as Principal and Vice Principal of Saint Anne.

How can you enter to win? The staff of Saint Anne will be visiting your classrooms and joining you on the school yard to find students who are displaying acts of love and hope as well as finding small ways to help our environment. If you are “caught,” you will be given a ballot to enter to win  “Principal and Vice Principal for a Day.” Good luck Golden Stars!!!

Wear Blue!

Students are invited to wear blue to show our dedication to water awareness and our fight for safe drinking water around the world.

Social Justice Awareness Booklet

Each student will complete an activity sheet around social justice awareness and as a community, we will create a school book for the library.

Vow of Silence

On Wednesday, our students will take part in a Vow of Silence. This is to show our support for those around the world who do not have a voice. The Vow will require 10 minutes of silence per grade (eg. Grade 1, 10 minutes; Grade 2, 20 minutes, etc.); however, if there are students who wish to extend this vow, they are welcome to do so.
