City to offer daily programming for students in event of school board strike

KITCHENER – The City of Kitchener will offer daily programming for children ages 4 to 10 if the local Catholic School board votes to strike next week. Starting today, parents can register their children to participate in day programming taking place at the Lions Arena.

Lions Arena Camp will run daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during the strike. Space in the program is limited and the cost to participate is $25 per day. Parents are encouraged to enroll their children on a day-by-day basis. In the event the camp does not run, a full refund will be issued to registrants.

During camp, children will participate in active games and enjoy creative crafts, while interacting with their peers and enhancing their interpersonal skills. Participants are asked to dress for the weather, as some activities will take place outdoors, and come with a packed lunch and other snacks.
